About The Event
The Last of the Duke Street Kings is one of the premier Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band tributes in North America.
This is no simple cover band!! We stage authentic reproductions of live concert performances and studio releases by the original group. And we are not limited to only the classic hits. From the first album to the latest projects, we offer a unique selection of Boss songs unreleased except in anthology and left off the set lists of other Springsteen tributes. An eight-piece group with occasional extras, every E Street member is represented in the Dukes, including varied instruments like violin and other instrumentation when needed.
Andy Blincoe - Lead Vocals - Guitar - Harmonica
35 years on the Montreal music scene and now fronting LOTDSK Andy is inspired by Americana roots rock and vested in the classic rock tradition, preaching the doctrine that a live show should combine the elements of sound, vision and emotion. Anything else is a fail artistically.
Glen Ethier - Piano - Keys - Violin - Vocals
Hailing originally from rural Ontario, the Dukes' version of Roy Bittan began his first modest solo performances in public at age 8. By the age of 20 he had played piano, guitar, organ, violin, or bass in different groups or as a solo performer, and was also a vocalist singing in choirs, small groups, or as a soloist. Then he went away for 14 years to study music, first in Nova Scotia, then in Alberta, and finally in British Columbia, ending up with a Ph.D. in music theory.
After brief stints teaching at McGill University in Montreal and Queen’s University in Kingston, he finally settled at Vanier College in Montreal, where he is currently the chair of the music department. Glen picked up with the group Wayward Souls in the late 1990s (house band for the then-MIX 96 radio station), and with Calamity Flame briefly in the early 2000s. Another 10-year hiatus to work on his own material and private performances, and he returned to the stage for two years with a group called Johnny’s Garden before joining the Last of the Duke Street Kings in 2015.
Matthew Souaid - Saxophone
Matthew is a young multi wind player emerging in Montreal’s music scene who specializes in Rock, Pop, Funk, Jazz and Classical music. He is currently finishing his studies in Jazz Performance at Vanier College yet this has not kept him from performing in and around Montreal. Capable of playing Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bari Saxophones, Flute, Clarinet or Bass Clarinet.
Matthew has been breaking into Montreal’s music scene playing in notable venues such as Place-Des-Arts, L’Astral, Club Soda and Metropolis. He has been seen playing as a freelance musician for many Montreal artists as well as playing regularly with Ska-Punk group The Anti Non-Conformists and Avant-Garde Rock group The Maximum Chill.
Lyle Robinson - Guitar
Having grown up as a child of the 1970's, Lyle first came upon the guitar at the tender age of 14 when a childhood friend showed how to play the opening riff to Smoke On The Water! And that as they say, was that! Lyle took to the guitar like a fish to water and in the 41 years since, Lyle has played in a variety of bands and musical genres ranging from Rock and Blues to Jazz and R & B. Primarily self taught, Lyle enjoys combining one improvisational style with another when soloing, while paying strict attention to the original intent and vibe of the tune he is playing.
When not performing with The Last of the Duke Street Kings, Lyle can be found teaching guitar, working on his own original Jazz tunes, and/or applying his new found passion for photography to his creative palette.
Rhonda Blincoe - Vocals/Percussion
Gracing many stages over the past 30 years, providing both lead and background vocals as well as percussion for Montreal renowned Classic Rock Band "Thick As Thieves" and most recently "The Last of The Duke Street Kings". Heavily influenced by the pioneers of classic rock music of the 70's and 80's and a passion for performing on stage
Ben Wilson - Bass /Vocals
Raised in Laval, Quebec. His first introduction to music was from his parents. Jazz, Calypso, Blues and Soul music were always playing in the house. Music had Ben dancing since before he could walk. He experimented with many different instruments through out his youth, till he found the bass at 19. It was love at first sight.
He's been in the music scene for about 32 years. Working with great Montreal artists in Rock, Reggea, Acid Jazz, Soul and R&B Bands. As you can tell his musical influences are all over the place. From Roots to Rock, Reggae to Soul, Jazz to Disco and Punk to Funk. If it's got a groove count him in!
Some musicians that really turned his head were Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Earth Wind and Fire, Bob Marley, Led Zep, Jaco Pastorious, Victor Wooten, Prince, Pink Floyd and so many others.
Patrick Rowan - Drums
Playing drums for over 25 years, Patrick has spent most of this time writing and playing original music. Based out of the Montreal music scene, he’s been part of an act that has taken their material on the road anywhere and everywhere over the years. Having no formal musical education, Patrick has found inspiration in various styles of music and strives to improve with each playing experience, be it onstage or in practice.
William Fortis - Keyboards
William is a Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist with strong musicality and a wide palate of influences and experience. Gigging professionally since the age of 15, he has experience in a variety of roles and styles, ranging from rock bassist to jazz pianist to classical brass player. He currently provides organ and other keyboard parts for The Last of the Duke Street Kings as he looks to continue expanding his knowledge and experience of the world of music.
Devan Meisner - Bass
Devan is the newest member of LOTDSK, filling in as needed on bass, and is also the bassist in The Record Breakers band. His band mates in both groups know him to be rock-solid, providing a strong, confident sound supporting the songs.
Devan started playing piano at age 5. He picked up the guitar a few years later and then began playing bass at age 14. The bass has been his main instrument ever since. Not surprisingly, one of Devan’s favourite bands is Rush, due in large part to bassist Geddy Lee. Devan first heard YYZ at the age of 12 and has been a true Rush fan ever since. He has seen Rush in concert three times. Devan pursued bass guitar studies in college and is now at university.
